The Calvados Sidecar, found in Jason Kosmas & Dushan Zaric´s book Speakeasy, is a  variation on the classic Sidecar. Calvados is a French apple brandy treated with the same care like cognac.

1 ounce Calvacos, 1 ounce Cointreau, 1 ounce lemon juice, 1 dash Bitter Truth Aromatic Bitters (optional, my own choice), garnish: orange twist, for rimming the glass: lemon wedge, 2 tablespoon fine sugar lightly speckled with 1/2 teaspoon grated cinnamon

Moisten the rim of the cocktail glass with the lemon wedge. Dip the rim in the cinnamon sugar mix. Shake ingredients with ice and strain into the cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange twist

The Calvados Sidecar is a rich medium dry and complex Calvados drink with flavors of burned brandy and citrus with orange on the nose. The accentuation with the cinnamon sugar rim is wonderful.
