You are looking for a strong, salty & smoky, sweet and hot summer drink? Yes, it exists!! The Cinder created by Phil Ward (2008) from Death & Co´s book Modern Classic Cocktails.

3/4 oz. Reposado Tequila, 3/4 oz. Jalapeño-Infused Blanco Tequila (see below), 1/2 oz. Mezcal, 3/4 oz. Lime Juice, 3/4 oz. Simple Syrup, 2 dashes Angostura Bitters, garnish: Smoked Salt for rimming (I took Hickory-smoked salt)

Preparation of Jalapeño-Infused Blanco Tequila (adapted by myself for a smaller portion of infused tequila)

Combine the ribs and seeds from 1 Jalapeño and the chopped flesh of 1/2 Jalapeño with 4 ounces of Blanco Tequila and stir well. Let stand at room temperature for 20 minutes, or until the heat level is to your liking. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve.

Rim a glass with the smoked salt. Shake the ingredients with ice and strain into the glass.
