Lindsay Nader and Anne Robinson collaborated on this flowery spin on the classic Astoria cocktail, named after the annex added to the old Waldorf hotel in 1897“, Jim Meehan writes in his PDT Cocktail book.

Ingredients

2 oz. Gin, 0.5 oz. White Vermouth, 0.5 oz. Dry Vermouth, 1 bsp Falernum, 4 dashes Lavendel-Infused Vodka, garnish: sprig of dried Lavender

Stir ingredients with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with the Lavender

2 liters 100 proof Vodka, 1 oz. Dried Lavender. Combine vodka and lavender in a non-reactive container. Infuse, covered, for 2 days at room temperature. Fine-strain and bottle.

It is fun to make your own lavender-infused vodka. And the lavender I used is of world class quality, grown in our garden at the beautiful shores of the river Main in Lower Bavaria.

The Flora Astoria is one of the best modern-style martinis, very complex, strong, and flowery. Give it a try!
