This is a marriage of two classic cocktails, the Aviation and the Mojito. I named it after a regional airline of Sweden for no other reason that I liked the name”, Sean Muldoon writes (found in The Essential Bartender´s Guide by Robert Hess).

And here is the Malmö Aviation!

1-1/3 ounce gin, 1/3 ounce maraschino, 3/4 ounce lime juice, 1/3 ounce sugar syrup, 10 mint leaves, garnish: a cocktail cherry

Shake ingredients with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a cherry (I still have a jar of green onces).

Tasting Notes

Thius drink is a “Must Try” for maraschino and mint lovers! The combination of the subtle bitter almond flavor of the crushed cherry pits and the refreshing mint is very dominant.
