Pepper Delirious

For quite a long time already I have had an eye on the Pepper Delerious created by Ryan Magarian and described in Robert Hess´The Essential Bartender´s Guide.

Today finally I had fresh mint, lemon and a yellow bell pepper in the fridge and, of course, there is never a lack of gin!

2 thin yellow bell pepper rings, 2/3 cup loosely packed mint leaves, 2 ounces gin, 3/4 ounces lemon juice, 3/4 ounce simple syrup, garnish: mint sprig and a yellow bell pepper ring

Muddle all ingredients without ice. Then shake with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with the bell pepper ring and the mint sprig.

Wow, I could never imagine that mint and bell pepper are such excellent “taste buddies”! A highly aromatic gin drink. Let´s see what my beloved Eva will say about it!
