Bobby (Robert) Burns was a Scottish poet and lyricist. He is the national poet of Scotland and is celebrated worldwide. He is the best known poet who has also written in the Scots language.

Besides of that, he gave his name to one of the best pre-prohibiton cocktails, to the Bobby Burns (Old Waldorf-Astoria Bar Book by Albert Stevens Crockett, 1935). Here is my favorite recipe it.

Ingredients

2 oz. Scotch, 1 oz. Sweet Vermouth, 2 dashes Bénedictine, garnish: Lemon Twist

Preparation

Stir ingredients with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with the lemon twist.
