Persephone, also called Kore (“the maiden”), is the daughter of Zeus and the harvest goddess Demeter, and is the queen of the underworld. Homer describes her as the formidable, venerable majestic queen of the underworld, who carries into effect the curses of men upon the souls of the dead.” (source: Wikipedia).

BUT Persephone is also a rich and fruity Applejack drink from David Slape, featured in The PDT Cocktail Book.

Ingredients

1 oz. Laird’s Applejack, 3/4 oz. Sweet Vermouth, 1/2 oz. Sloe Gin, 1/2 oz. Lemon Juice, 1/2 oz. Simple Syrup

Stir applejack, sweet vermouth, sloe gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup with ice. Strain into a chilled coupe.
