In the drink Old Maid by Sam Ross, New York (2004) mint meets cucumber, a fantastic combination (source: PDT Cocktailbook by Jim Meehan).

2 oz. Gin, 1 oz. Lime Juice, 3/4 oz. Simple Syrup, 6 Mint Leaves, 3 slices of Cucumber, garnish: 1 Mint Sprig and 1 slice of Cucumber

Muddle the mint leaves, the slices of cucumber and the simple syrup in a shaker. Add the remaining ingredients and shake with ice. Double-strain into a rocks glass over a large piece of ice. Garnish with the cucumber slice and the mint sprig.
