Casino Cocktail

29. November 2014 by swizzzlestick

Today I miss Eva so much! So much as never before. I imagine that she is here right now. That she sips my new liqueurs, that she lights candles in my living room, that she re-arranges my pillows and blankets on my sofa to make it more comfortable for us, bringing so much love, warmth and felicity in my house.

I am quite funny: although she is not here, I am looking in my cocktail books for a drink she may like, I have chosen the Casino Cocktail found in The Essential Bartenders Guide by Robert Hess. She likes gin, our self-made brandied cherries (recipe from Jeffrey Morgenthaler), she starts to like Maraschino Liqueur (but not too much of it), and lemon juice.

She is not here today, nevertheless I am talking to her. Is this weird? No, I believe it is love which I have never felt before! I miss her so much …

2 oz. Gin, 1 BS Lemon Juice, 1 BS Maraschino Liqueur, 2 dashes Orange Bitters, garnish: a Cherry

Stir ingredients with ice and strain into a cocktail coupe. Garnish with the cherry.
