Stone Wall

Time begins for great autumn drinks, like Dale DeGroff´s Stone Wall with fresh ginger, apple cider and strong rum!

1 small piece of peeled Ginger Root, 1/4 oz. Syrup, 1 and 1/2 oz. Apple Cider, 1 and 1/2 oz. Strong Rum, 1 and 1/2 oz.Ginger Beer, garnish: Lime Wedge, Green Apple Slices

In a mixing glass muddle the ginger with the syrup. Add the apple cider, strong rum and ice, shake and strain into a cocktail glass. Top with ginger beer, squeeze the lime wedge and garnish with green apple slices.

Remark: I still have some confusion about the meanings of fresh, soft or hard cider in various drink recipes as equivalent product names do not exist here, although in Germany there is a vast variety of great apple products. For this drink I decided to go with bottled German cider with an alcohol content of 3%, although Dale DeGroff asked for Fresh Apple Cider (hmm, it was an excellent choice, I liked it a lot!).
