.. which drink would you offer to him?

I would prepare him a Martini, how Phil Greene described it in his wonderful book To Have and Have Another.

Ingredients

1 and 3/4 oz. London Dry Gin (94-proof, quite difficult to find but I got it!), 1/8 oz. Dry Vermouth (Noilly Prat). “Hemingway sometimes garnished his Martini with thinly sliced onion.

Preparation

Stir well with a lot of ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass garnished with sliced onion rings.

MartiniI´m excited to see what my beloved Eva will say when she tries Hemingway´s Martini!
