There have been several renditions of the Blackthorn Cocktail. For Ted Haigh, aka Dr. Cocktail, “Vintage Spirits and Forgotten Cocktails“, the following one is the most singular one.
2 oz. Gin, 3/4 oz. Dubonnet Rouge, 3/4 oz. Kirschwasser, 1 splash Lemon Bitters (optional, my only variation to this recipe), garnish: Lemon Twist, Brandied Cherry
Stir ingredients with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist and a brandied cherry. Enjoy!
