El Don

4. May 2014 by swizzzlestick

The celebration day Cinco de Mayo originated in the American West as a way to commemorate the cause of freedom and democracy during the first years of the American Civil War, and today the date is observed in the United States as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride. In the state of Puebla, the date is observed to commemorate the Mexican army’s unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín, according to Wikipedia.

The tomorrow´s celebration day is an excellent opportunity to enjoy a great tequila drink, like the EL Don created by Rafael Reyes in Amsterdam.

2 oz. Tequila Añejo, 1 and 1/2 TS Orange Curaçao, 3 TS Coffee Liqueur, 2 dashes Orange Bitters, 2 dashes Angostura Bitters

Stir ingredients with ice and strain into a rocks glass filled with ice.
