Pisco Sour

18. February 2014 by swizzzlestick

Still in time for this month´s http://mixologymonday.com/

I submit my all time favorite Sour, the Pisco Sour. The wonderful idea to think about Sours this month comes from http://www.ginhound.com/

2oz. Pisco, 1 oz. Lemon Juice, 1/2 oz. Simple Syrup, 1 small Egg White, 4 drops Angostura Bitters (I like to take more)

At first dry shake, then shake with ice and strain into a cocktail coupe. Garnish with the drops of Angostura Bitters.

  1. The first site that I have seen use lemon juice, congratulations. To use lime in a Pisco Sour is just so wrong.

    • Thank you AV !

Indeed most of my recipes say lime juice as well. But I lived a few months in Chile and have only seen lemons going into the Pisco.
As Chile does not have tropical climates I believe that lemons grow there much better than limes, because of that they may be the prefered choice.
