Today I am in a very romantic mood. In the morning I have already written a poem for a very special friend of mine living in Lower Mountain in Bavaria, nearby Major East Village. And here it is:
Da ist sie nun die SMS
die ich doch kaum nochmal vergess
an Eva die voll “passion” steckt
in mir vergessne Geister weckt
wie gern würd ich mal fahren hin
ich ihrem Herzen denn nah schon bin?
O.k., a poem for a special woman needs a special drink, doesn´t it? The Flame of Love is just good enough! Invented by Pepe Ruiz in mid-twentieth century in Hollywood. According to Dale DeGroff, Dean Martin enjoyed this drink, and Frank Sinatra was so blown away by it, that he ordered about two hundred drinks for the whole restaurant.
1/2 oz. Fino Sherry Tio Pepe, 3 Orange Peels for flaming, 2 oz. Vodka
Chill a cocktail glass.
Wash it out with the sherry and discard the sherry.
Flame the oil from two orange peels into the empty glass and discard the orange peels.
Stir the vodka in a mixing glass filled with ice.
Strain into the cocktail glass.
Flame the third orange peel over the surface of the vodka and drop it in.
Put some music from Frank Sinatra and enjoy!
