Autumn is apple time! Apples everywhere around me! So I have decided that I want to have some Applejack (or Calvados) drinks too. Searching for a nice one I opened Philip Greene´s Hemingway book. When I found Harry Macelhone´s 1920s Paris recipe for the Jack Rose, I knew I will kick off my small series of Applejack drinks with this one!


1 and 1/2 oz. Applejack or Calvados, 3/4 oz. Gin (I take Gordons, like Hemingway did!), 3/4 oz. Orange Juice, 3/4 oz. Lime Juice, 1/3 oz. French Vermouth, 1/3 oz. Italian Vermouth, and about 1/3 oz. Grenadine to color


Shake with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with lime.

A beautiful fruity drink with apple taste. Very nice!!
