Singapore Sling

6. October 2013 by swizzzlestick

Happiness is when I come to an original cocktail recipe a little bit closer again than before! And if it tastes fantastic, even better! Both happened today. In the book “Essential Cocktail” Dale Degroff presents the original recipe of the Singapore Sling  which he received 1989 by fax from the head bartender of the Raffles (I realize that this recipe comes with pineapple juice although many versions are without).  Here it is:

1 ounce Gin

1/2 ounce Cherry Heering

1/4 ounce Cointreau

1/4 ounce Benedictine

3 ounces pineapple juice

1/2 ounce Lime Juice

Dash of Angostura Bitters

For garnish: Orange Slice and Cherry

Shake the ingredients with ice in a shaker. Strain into a highball glass and garnish with the orange slice and the cherry.
