I knew the day will come when I have all together fresh grapefruit, lime and mint in the kitchen. Today was this day and finally I made the Bailey! I found the recipe in Philip Greene´s book “To have and have another” (the recipe is from Gerald Murphy). Hemingway liked this drink, maybe because it contained only a teaspoon of sugar syrup, or even no sugar at all. This mint-infused gin cocktail is sensational!

1.5 oz. gin

1/2  oz. grapefruit juice

1/2 oz. lime juice

1 tsp. simple syrup (optional)

1 sprig mint

Put the mint in the shaker, but tear it up by hand first. Add the gin and let it stand for a few minutes. Add the other ingredients and stir with ice. Serve very cold with a sprig of mint.
