When I discovered this cocktail recipe in Brad Thomas Parsons´ book “Bitters” I knew immediately that one day I will try this recipe. I was curious how a drink with gin, Strega and sparkling wine would taste like?  Now I can say it is a sensational aromatic summer drink!

1 ounce gin

3/4 ounce Strega

1/4 ounce simple syrup

2 dashes orange bitters

Chilled champagner or sparkling wine (this first time I took sparkling wine)

Combine the ingredients except the sparkling wine, stir in a mixing glass filled with ice, and strain into a highball glass filled with some ice. Top off with the sparkling wine. Garnish with an orange zest.
