Rum Swizzle

In my opening post I will make a good old cocktail which requires, of course, the use of a swizzle stick! A swizzle stick is usually made from the branch of a tree or a bush, cut from the point where smaller branches extend out from the main branch (see 1st picture). My swizzle stick is a manufactured one, but now, knowing how it looks like, I will look for some natural grown ones during my occasional forest walks.

1 1/2 oz. rum

1/4 oz. lemon juice

1/2 oz. lime juice

1 tsp. sugar, orgeat or similar

1 large dash Angostura Bitters

2 oz. Selters

100_5280 (Large)

Put everything in a glass filled with crushed ice and agitate it with the swizzle stick. Serve with straws (no further garnish this time).

A great summer drink!
